Summer 2006
- Summer 2006 Here is a link to a page with some overview on our activities.
The two projects for Summer 2006 were
Spectral gaps in groups and graphs, directed by Stratos Prassidis, and
Cayley graphs and coverings, directed by Terry Bisson.
Participating students were Clara Brasseur, Julia Lazenby, Taylor Coon, Allison Davis, Ryan Grady, Dominic Dotterrer, Samuel Cooper, and Joe Consiglio.
From Reed Magazine, SUMMER 2008 issue: Julia Lazenby ’08, a mathematics major, received the Class of ’21 Award for the exceptional and creative quality of her thesis, Circulant Graphs and their Spectra. The award is endowed by alumni contributions, and recognizes work “of notable character, involving an unusual degree of initiative and spontaneity.” Lazenby’s thesis adviser, mathematics professor David Perkinson, said Julia’s work “exhibited astounding independence, depth, creativity, and good taste.”
